I know what you mean now...now that you have mentioned "wife"...
bà xã is a nickname you refer to you wife...it's another term for wife in viet but more of slang you know what I mean? "vợ" is wife in vietnamese o ok lol caz for a min there i thought my bf called me his old lady. lol. yea i have a viet bf and i m chinese thanx for ur help. i need to learn some more viet for him =]

Hi ! Vietnamses talk about Vietnamses  .There is not many "Vietnamses learner" .I'm sorry ! I'm still haven't write fluent English .Vietnamse use Latin character so It is quite advantage to learn but Ours language has another characteristic .That is tone . English has no this feature . I think we should record some wav file .

Ba/Bo = Dad
:wink: Má and Bố (I don't know if you can see that "o" but it's the one with the hat symbole with a "xác" on it) is more of the northy people... I'm a southy...we southies say Ba and Mẹ (it sounds more polite) seee?? Chi Bao tries to be polite!!

Try hearing the old asian mothers speak...my workmate thinks they sound so rude cos they're so loud...but when she heard me speak viet on the phone with my mum she like 8O :?
